ABOUT US
Just after the second great war, a man by the name of Cyril Lewin (Cy) decided to build his own monument and memorial business. After working for Fisk Brothers as a stone cutter, he decided to take the steps to begin his own operation in Fort Mitchell Kentucky. In 1948, that dream came true. Cy opened up a small single room shack on Dixie Highway; this was the start of Lewin Monument Company. In the 50s, construction began on what is now the current location. Cy’s son, Thomas, began working for his father at a rather young age; he learned all the ins and outs of the industry. In the early 60’s, Cy became ill and the company was left up to Thomas. He began running the business following the death of Cy in the early 60’s. Thomas’ son, Scott, began working for his dad at the age of 12. Scott knew that he wanted to take over the business after his father was retired and that is exactly what took place in 1997. Scott owns and operates Lewin Monuments and has dedicated over 40 years of his life to the company. Currently, Scott’s daughter Megan and son-in-law Brad work for the family business.
At Lewin Monuments, our goal when working with a family who has lost a loved is to ensure we memorialize your loved one exactly how you envision. We do all of our own design work and inscriptions. This allows us to customize each and every project. We care about the families we represent and make sure we take the necessary steps to make the memories of your loved one last forever.
